Climate change. Poverty. Sprawl. Domestic violence.
Endangered species. Asian energy needs. U.S. energy needs. Now, more than ever, the world needs Vermont Law School graduates.
At Vermont Law School, we don’t merely prepare students to practice law; we prepare them to practice “law for the community and the world.” That’s not just a slogan—it’s our ethic.
-
It’s why our new Climate Legacy Initiative is gearing up to fight the critical issue of global warming by voicing future generations’ rights to a healthy planet.
-
It’s why we run the South Royalton Legal Clinic, Vermont’s largest poverty law center, where our students serve more than a thousand clients a year, including children trapped in domestic violence.
-
It’s why we’re working closely with China’s Sun Yat-sen University to help that country construct energy laws and train environmentally focused lawyers, and to gain our own insight on Asia’s development.
-
It’s why we’ve added sections to first-year classes, so that all incoming VLS students will have the small-class experience that best prepares them for success.
